Future I-49 Dedication - Chaffee Crossing, July 14, 2015

 

 

                 

A 6.5-mile section of I-49 was completed in July 2015 through Chaffee Crossing on the east side of Fort Smith. Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson was there to cut the ribbon, along with several members of the I-49 International Coalition board of directors and regional vice presidents. An estimated 35,000 cars per day will begin driving on this section of Future I-49.

 


 

I-49 Build the Bridge! Campaign

In June, Arkansas Highway Commissioners, AHTD, elected officials and I-49 International Coalition executive Director Gard Wayt gathered in Alma to officially dedicate the newest section of I-49 from Alma, AR north to Bella Vista, AR. View more photos on the Facebook page. 

 

 Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority executive director, Ivy Owen, and I-49 International Coalition executive director, Gard Way, visit before the I-49 dedication ceremony in Alma, AR. Owen also serves on the I-49 International Coalition board of directors.
